Field Service Technician – Water Treatment

About the role

The Field Service Technician will install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot water treatment and plumbing systems at customer sites across Nairobi. The role involves direct customer interaction, technical support and detailed reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair, test and maintain water treatment equipment and systems on‑site.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Verify equipment performance after service and ensure first‑time resolution.
• Prepare accurate service, maintenance and inspection reports, capturing field activities in the company’s digital system.
• Provide technical advice to customers and identify further service opportunities.
• Coordinate with assistants, subcontractors and internal technical teams.
• Maintain tools, spare parts and company vehicles and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Water Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in water‑treatment plant installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively for field assignments.

Required skills

• Diagnosis and troubleshooting of pumps, dosing systems, filters, valves, control panels and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
• Experience with Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), water softeners, filtration, chlorination and chemical dosing systems.
• EPRA Electrical C1/C2 or Solar T2/T3 qualification (or equivalent practical experience).
