Finance Assistant – NGO

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support FAWE Kenya’s financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting records, timely processing of payments, and compliance with donor and organisational requirements. Reporting to the Finance Officer, the role is based onsite in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and process payments and transactions.
• Assist with bank reconciliations, short‑term expenditure scheduling, and preparation of staff and statutory remittances.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and donor reports.
• Support audit activities and provide audit documentation.
• Organise financial documents and ensure compliance with organisational and donor guidelines.
• Post entries in the financial system and prepare reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• CPA Part 2 qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in a busy finance environment.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct issued within the last 6 months.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
