Finance Manager

About the role

Green.Earth works with smallholder farmers to restore degraded land, improve soil health and generate verified carbon credits. As the Venture Finance Officer for Venture Kenya, you will ensure that every fund movement – from incoming donations to disbursements for training and planting – is accurately recorded, protected and reported.

Key responsibilities

• Record and safeguard all incoming funds on the day they are received.
• Review and approve payment requests against approved budgets, confirming that invoices and supporting documents are complete.
• Oversee the Income & Receipts, Disbursements & Payments, and Records, Assets & Financial Reports functions to keep transactions accurate and traceable.
• Maintain audit‑ready financial records with zero missing invoices or unreconciled transactions.
• Compile and submit monthly financial reports to the Country Director and Holding Finance on time.
• Identify and resolve missing documentation or discrepancies before month‑end close.
• Escalate payment requests above approved thresholds or any signs of financial irregularity.
• Respond to financial queries from division heads, auditors and Holding Finance as needed.

Required profile

• A degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability for financial accuracy.
• Ability to manage a small team handling receipts, disbursements and record‑keeping.
• Comfort with end‑to‑end financial processes and understanding of why each receipt and reconciliation matters.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with auditors, division heads and external partners.
