Finance Officer

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Finance Officer to support payroll, payment processing, and financial reporting for its operations in Kenya. The role involves close collaboration with staff, suppliers, and auditors to ensure compliance with donor regulations and local tax laws.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process payroll, including journal bookings and tax remittances to KRA.
• Prepare and reconcile bank transactions, journals for NCBA Bank, and support monthly bank reconciliations.
• Handle staff advances, refunds, petty cash, and supplier payments, ensuring timely settlement and proper documentation.
• Respond to staff queries on financial systems such as Workday, Concur, and Provision, providing solutions‑oriented support.
• Support internal and external audit reviews by preparing required financial information and schedules.
• Participate in month‑end close processes, cost allocations using Blackline, and UNHAS pre‑payment reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of finance experience, preferably with international organizations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Understanding of humanitarian sector operations and donor compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with financial systems such as Workday, Concur, Provision, and Blackline.
• Knowledge of Sun systems and basic banking reconciliation tools.
