Finance Officer – Nairobi

About the role

KuwaPay is seeking a responsible and detail‑oriented Finance Officer to join its growing fintech team in Nairobi. The role involves managing financial operations, tax compliance and liaison with banks and payment partners.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile company transaction records, including bank statements, internal system records, and channel/operator statements.
• Communicate with banks, mobile money operators, payment partners, and KRA when required.
• Follow up monthly collection details, settlement reports, VAT invoices, and supporting documents.
• Calculate payroll and handle statutory payments, including social security, health insurance, payroll taxes, VAT, and other applicable government fees.
• Support tax compliance and ensure statutory filings and payments are completed on time.
• Handle any other finance‑related duties as required by the company.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience in a financial institution, mobile money operator, telecom operator, PSP or payment‑related company.
• Good understanding of mobile‑payment taxes, corporate tax obligations and KRA filing deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with banks, operators, KRA and external partners.
• High sense of responsibility, attention to detail and excellent time‑management.
