Finance Operations Lead

About the role

Effini Finance is seeking a senior Finance Operations Lead to become the first core operator of its outsourced finance services. This builder role will own client delivery, monthly finance processes, bookkeeping standards, reconciliation workflows, tax support, reporting quality, and eventually the hiring and management of junior finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery for clients across bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, payroll coordination, tax support, advisory and finance cleanup.
• Design and manage monthly close processes, chart of accounts structures and reporting templates.
• Oversee bank, card and mobile‑money reconciliation and prepare monthly management reports.
• Support clients with VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and other statutory obligations.
• Identify gaps, risks or errors in client finance records and lead cleanup projects.
• Configure and improve accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero or Zoho Books.
• Build onboarding, document collection and quality‑control workflows.
• Engage directly with clients, explain financial information and manage review conversations.
• Contribute to service‑package design, pricing logic and sales support.
• Develop and manage a junior finance team as the business scales.

Required profile

• Strong accounting and tax fundamentals with experience serving SMEs.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple client relationships.
• High ownership, good judgment and comfort operating in a fast‑growing environment.
• Excellent client‑facing and communication skills.
