Finance & Procurement Manager – Ksh 150,000

About the role

The Finance & Procurement Manager will lead the financial and procurement functions for a leading global law firm in Kenya. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the role is responsible for strengthening financial controls, improving cash flow, driving timely billing and collections, and ensuring statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and support the Managing Partner in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Prepare and analyse financial and management reports, offering recommendations on profitability, cash flow, expenditure and financial risks.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, financial modelling and budget‑versus‑actual analysis.
• Produce daily cash‑position, weekly billing and debtor reports, and monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, petty cash, bank and supplier reconciliations, and month‑end closing.
• Manage the firm’s billing and collections protocol, ensuring invoices and fee notes are prepared and collected promptly.
• Maintain accurate debtor‑ageing reports and implement documented follow‑up actions and collection plans.
• Monitor work in progress, unbilled fees, disbursements, retainers, client reimbursements and matter‑level profitability.
• Identify and escalate financial, cash‑flow, compliance and operational risks with practical recommendations.
• Establish, implement and continuously improve financial controls, approval processes and risk‑management procedures.
• Manage the full procurement cycle, from requisition through sourcing, quotation analysis, supplier due diligence, negotiations, approvals and delivery.
