Financial Accountant – Cluster (NGO)

About the role

The Financial Accountant – Cluster will support Food For Education’s kitchen network by ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost per meal analysis, and strict inventory control. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role bridges finance and operations to maintain compliance with internal policies, GAAP and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Track, reconcile and post core ingredient, grocery, transport, energy, consumables, utilities and labor costs.
• Manage inventory receipt, transfers, consumption, physical stock‑takes and reconciliations using Sage ERP and Appsheet.
• Prepare timely Cost Per Meal (CPM) and accounting reports for assigned kitchen units.
• Lead bi‑weekly CPM/CPC review meetings with Kitchen Managers and drive corrective actions.
• Provide weekly updates to Finance Manager and Financial Controller on cluster operations.
• Produce monthly financial and operational reports, including inventory adjustments, for leadership sign‑off.
• Partner with Operations and HR Business Partners to reconcile and post program salary inputs for outsourced labour.
• Perform daily inventory reviews, invoice posting, periodical physical stock‑takes and stock valuations.

Required profile

• Experience in financial reporting, cost analysis and inventory management within an NGO or similar environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles.
• Ability to work closely with operations and HR teams to resolve variances.
