Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a firm providing accounting, audit and tax consulting services, is seeking a reliable Financial Accountant to manage daily financial records for multiple clients, ensure accurate bookkeeping, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Balance books by tracking all cash, bank and M‑Pay transactions daily and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date general ledger and manage accounts receivable and payable.
• Process customer invoices, supplier payments and reconcile accounts.
• Handle month‑end updates, adjustments, asset tracking and statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Rental Tax, Annual Returns).
• Run monthly payroll, issue payslips and update payroll entries in the accounting system.
• Respond professionally to client queries via email or phone and request missing receipts or compliance documents.
• Prepare clear financial reports, management accounts and assist with year‑end statements and audit documentation.
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA Part II or finalist (advantage).
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and local statutory requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Zoho Books, Odoo, QuickBooks or Sage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and spreadsheet building.
• Experience with payroll processing and statutory deductions.
