Investment Officer – Africa & Middle East (French speaker)

About the role

The Investment Officer will manage a portfolio of investees across Africa and the Middle East, focusing on clean cooking, energy access and financial intermediation sectors. Reporting to the Head of the Regional Office, the role combines investment analysis, due‑diligence, and relationship management to support impact‑driven investments.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse governance, credit, financial and ESG data of investees and store it on the shared drive.
• Monitor investees through monthly, quarterly and annual analytical reviews.
• Assess investee risk profiles, including economic, political and natural‑disaster factors.
• Support the investment selection process and prepare proposals for the Investment Committee.
• Participate in negotiations, due‑diligence trips and loan documentation preparation.
• Prepare country‑risk analysis reports and portfolio analysis required by supervisors and investors.
• Supervise junior team members and contribute to internal tool development.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in banking, impact investing or economic development, with a focus on lending.
• Degree in finance, economics or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in impact investing, SDG initiatives and renewable‑energy projects.
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French.

• Experience conducting ESG and financial due‑diligence.
