Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will support worldvision’s mission by ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor payments, staff payroll, statutory taxes, and balance‑sheet reconciliations. The role works closely with the People & Culture department, Shared Service Centre and external tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices in ProVision, verify LPOs, attach contracts and ensure correct accounting codes; scan and forward to the Shared Service Centre within 24 hours.
• Manage in‑country payroll for international and national staff using SunSystems, prepare journal entries, distribute payslips and reconcile payroll charges with the Global Centre.
• Handle Concur advances and reimbursements, perform cash‑deposit verification, and reconcile staff loan and advance accounts monthly.
• Prepare and submit monthly PAYE, VAT and withholding tax returns, remit statutory deductions to the Kenya Revenue Authority and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Analyse and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, including suppliers, employee advances and payroll‑related liabilities, ensuring timely settlement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SunSystems accounting software.
• Experience using ProVision system for invoice processing.
• Knowledge of Concur expense management.
• Understanding of Kenyan tax legislation, PAYE, VAT and statutory reporting.
