Financial Accuracy & Tax Logic Expert – English Speakers (Kenya)

About the role

Join TELUS Digital, a global AI community. We develop AI models that process sensitive financial data such as balance sheets, tax returns, and expense reports. As a Financial Accuracy Expert, you will ensure the reliability of AI‑generated responses, guaranteeing that every figure, tax rule, and expense categorisation complies with Kenyan accounting and legal standards.

Main responsibilities

• Audit statements: Verify balance sheets, income statements, and other financial outputs produced by the AI to ensure mathematical balance to the cent.
• Tax logic control: Ensure the AI correctly applies Kenyan tax rates, local VAT, withholding taxes, and specific fiscal rules.
• Expense categorisation: Train the AI to identify and classify expenses (e.g., travel costs vs. capital assets) according to accounting standards.
• Fraud detection: Identify suspicious patterns such as double billing or unusual transactions and enhance AI algorithms to recognise them.
• Documentation & feedback: Write detailed audit reports, propose improvements, and share insights with data‑science teams.

Required profile

• University degree (minimum Bachelor’s) in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Native‑level English (minimum B1) and proficiency in Swahili or Kenyan English for interpreting local laws.
• 2–5 years proven experience in audit, accounting or tax advisory, preferably in a multinational setting.
• Extreme rigor, strong attention to detail, and passion for perfectly balanced numbers.
• Ability to work autonomously remotely and communicate clearly with technical teams.
