Financial Analyst

About the role

The Financial Analyst will support KCA University by providing data‑driven financial insights that guide tuition pricing, scholarship allocation, and strategic investment decisions. This role works closely with Admissions, Institutional Research, and senior finance teams to ensure the university’s financial health and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Revenue modelling & enrollment analytics: build, maintain and update predictive financial models to forecast tuition revenue and analyse the impact of national student funding shifts.
• Collaborate with Admissions and Institutional Research to quantify financial returns on recruitment investments.
• Assist in the preparation, consolidation and review of annual operating and capital budgets, and perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
• Identify structural revenue risks and cost‑saving opportunities across academic and administrative units.
• Conduct affordability risk assessments and develop mathematical models to calibrate internal scholarships and financial aid distribution.
• Perform cost‑benefit analyses of the academic portfolio to assess financial viability of new programmes or curriculum restructuring.
• Prepare comprehensive financial dashboards, executive summaries and strategic concept papers, ensuring compliance with data governance and national data protection regulations.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or a related area from an accredited university.
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and a member of ICPAK in good standing.
• Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA) qualification.
• At least four years of experience in financial data analytics.
