Financial Manager – Kenya Operations

About the role

The Financial Manager, Kenya will oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations of the Kenya entity. This operationally focused role ensures accurate bookkeeping, timely invoicing, cash‑flow monitoring, payroll processing, and full statutory tax compliance while acting as the primary finance liaison with the Mauritius management team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, journals, chart of accounts and the fixed‑asset register.
• Process customer invoicing, track payment status and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations and handle expense claims and petty cash.
• Chase overdue receivables, prepare cash‑flow forecasts and monitor working‑capital shortfalls.
• Manage day‑to‑day banking relationships, monitor FX movements (KES vs. USD/MUR) and flag material exposure.
• Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF/SHIF and corporate income tax returns with KRA iTax.
• Maintain KRA tax compliance certificates, respond to audits and ensure Companies Act filing requirements.
• Coordinate year‑end external audit fieldwork and renew business permits and sector licences.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and support annual budgeting for the group.
• Process monthly payroll, statutory deductions and ensure compliance with local employment legislation.

Required profile

Required skills

• Proficiency with Kenya’s KRA iTax filing system.
• Experience in VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF/SHIF and corporate tax compliance.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting system operation.
• Ability to prepare cash‑flow forecasts and manage working‑capital.
