Fire Maintenance Engineer – South West London

About the role

Sureserve Compliance Fire Ltd. is seeking a Fire Maintenance Engineer to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across South‑West London. You will work on life‑safety equipment, emergency lighting, and smoke vent systems, ensuring compliance with British and European standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day planned and reactive maintenance on fire safety contracts.
• Service and maintain emergency lighting systems and smoke vent equipment.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs and carry out remedial works as required.
• Verify assets, install replacement or additional equipment, and conduct site surveys.
• Support the development of apprentices and act professionally with clients.
• Participate in a call‑out rota (one night in ten).

Required profile

• Previous experience in fire maintenance or a related field.
• Good understanding of British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• Familiarity with FIA units (1, 3, 5) and a valid driving licence.
• Ability to work both independently on site and collaboratively with office teams.
