Fleet Planner (Freight Forwarding Operations)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Fleet Planner for its freight forwarding operations in Nairobi. The position is full-time and on a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily, weekly and monthly fleet schedules according to operational demand.
• Assign vehicles and drivers to routes while complying with driver hours, rest regulations and customer service requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilization to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate with operations teams to align dispatch and delivery plans.
• Use fleet management systems to track vehicle availability, location and performance.
• Monitor fuel usage, trip efficiency and route optimization to control costs.
• Maintain accurate records of planned versus actual trips and investigate variances.
• Support contingency planning for breakdowns, delays or emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits and internal policies when scheduling.
• Generate planning and performance reports for management review.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business Studies or in Transport and Logistics.
• 1 year of experience.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving ability, and attention to detail in scheduling.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Result-oriented, team player, resilient and proactive.
