About the role
Equity Bank Kenya is seeking an experienced Fraud Prevention Manager to lead its fraud risk strategy and strengthen controls across the organization. The role combines strategic oversight, operational monitoring, and team leadership to protect the bank and its customers from financial crime.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and govern the fraud risk strategy and governance framework.
- Design and assess fraud risk controls and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.
- Oversee fraud monitoring, detection systems, and escalation processes.
- Manage incident response and coordinate escalation of fraud cases.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative fraud prevention efforts.
- Promote fraud awareness and embed a strong anti‑fraud culture.
- Produce reporting, management information, and analytics on fraud trends.
- Lead and develop the fraud prevention team, building capability and expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in fraud detection and prevention.
Required profile
- Business‑related degree from a recognized university.
- Professional certification such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is an advantage.
- Over 10 years of experience in the banking sector.
- At least 5 years in fraud management, risk analysis, or financial crime compliance.
- 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role.
