About the role
The Funds and Grants Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for implementing partners in Kenya, overseeing the full grant lifecycle from due diligence to financial close‑out. This senior position ensures that partner financial activities align with client regulations, SOPs, and risk‑mitigation standards.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate partner due diligence, risk assessments, and mitigation measures.
- Review partner budgets, amendments, cash forecasts, and disbursement requests.
- Lead analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual partner financial reports, including variance analysis and compliance checks.
- Process and track partner disbursements, ensuring KYC requirements and banking procedures are met.
- Maintain portfolio‑level financial documentation, reporting on commitments, disbursements, and cash‑flow projections.
- Prepare consolidated quarterly and annual financial reports for the portfolio.
- Guide data teams in creating financial dashboards and reporting tools.
- Support client audit processes and develop financial manuals, SOPs, and partner guidance.
- Manage staff planning, coaching, and training of senior associates and associates.
- Contribute to business development activities, proposal writing, and thought leadership.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA or equivalent.
- Minimum 9 years experience in international development, with at least 4 years in public‑sector audit or fund and grants management.
- Demonstrated experience in partner capacity building and risk management.
