About the role
The Funds Transfer Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payment transactions within the Document Management System (DMS). The role ensures compliance with I&M Bank’s internal policies, Central Bank of Kenya prudential guidelines, and international trade finance standards. It involves handling both local and international payments and performing account reconciliations.
Key responsibilities
- Review and validate payment instructions received through the DMS, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Liaise with branches, correspondent banks, Business Development, Credit Administration and Treasury to facilitate smooth transaction processing.
- Perform due‑diligence checks and claim correspondent bank charges via MT191 messages.
- Process outward and inward payments efficiently, monitor Nostro accounts and reconcile RTGS suspense accounts.
- Respond to payment‑related queries from internal staff and external clients.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business‑related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in funds transfer or payment processing.
- Strong attention to detail, customer focus, integrity, teamwork and communication skills.
Required skills
- Document Management System (DMS) usage.
- SWIFT MT191 messaging for bank charge claims.
- RTGS processing and Nostro account reconciliation.
