Genebank Costing Study Consultant (Contract)

About the role
CGIAR seeks an experienced consultant to independently assess the costs and financing of its genebank operations across eleven centers, ensuring alignment with the Plant Treaty obligations and identifying efficiencies.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders and conduct a desk review of current genebank costs, future‑proofing activities, GHUs and policy work.
- Compile a comprehensive report with conclusions, recommendations and identification of data gaps for the next costing cycle.
Required profile
- Demonstrated expertise in genebank operations, financial management and multi‑stakeholder engagement in a global research context.
- Independence from any CGIAR Center, funder or the Crop Trust.
Required skills
- Knowledge of genebank core functions, future‑proofing, germplasm health units and related policy work.
- Experience in cost analysis, budgeting and financial assessment for large‑scale agricultural research programs.
