Project Assistant (Entry Level)

About the role

The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation is seeking an entry‑level Project Assistant to support its agricultural and development programmes in Nairobi. This position offers a one‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension, and the successful candidate will start as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and monitoring project activities.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, reports and related documentation.
• Organise meetings, draft agendas, take minutes and follow up on action items.
• Track project timelines, deliverables and milestones.
• Maintain accurate project records, files and databases.
• Coordinate communication between project team members, clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or a related field such as Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy or Development Studies.
• Previous experience in project coordination or administrative support is an advantage, especially within NGOs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with project management software.
