General Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to manage the company's day-to-day financial operations. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting cost accounting across our property development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and statutory deductions (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF).
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and filing (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax).
• Track and report project and site-level costs for ongoing developments.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Assist with internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and regulators.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor inventory of materials/stock where applicable.
• Prepare management reports and financial analysis as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA(K) or ACCA certification (part‑qualified or fully qualified).
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an accounting role; real estate or construction experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax law and statutory compliance requirements.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
