General Cashier – Hotel Finance

About the role

The General Cashier is responsible for managing daily cash handling and disbursement operations for the hotel, ensuring accurate collection, verification, reconciliation, banking and safekeeping of cash and monetary instruments. The role supports strong financial controls and provides cash‑handling support to Front Office and Food & Beverage teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the daily cash control process, collecting, verifying and reconciling cash, cheques, credit‑card vouchers and remittances.
• Prepare and coordinate daily bank deposits, ensuring timely and intact deposits.
• Manage petty cash, staff disbursements and the General Cashier’s house bank, maintaining daily reconciliation.
• Support Front Office and Food & Beverage with change availability, especially during peak periods.
• Participate in surprise cash counts, investigations and other internal control activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of cash‑handling or accounting experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality and accountability given the sensitive nature of the role.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using hotel or accounting systems for cash management.
