General Manager – Bakery & Coffee Shop

About the role

The General Manager will lead Tandeli Bakery & Coffee Shop, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and outstanding customer experiences. Reporting directly to the Owner/Director, you will be the central link between front‑of‑house, production, finance, suppliers, and technology partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily bakery and café operations, coordinating front‑of‑house, production, and administration teams.
• Manage online ordering, deliveries, customer communications, and issue resolution.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, driving satisfaction and loyalty.
• Lead, motivate, and develop staff; handle recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Control inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships; monitor wastage and cost‑control measures.
• Review sales performance, prepare operational reports, and support budgeting, financial planning, and audits.
• Ensure consistent product quality, food safety compliance, and manage licences, permits, and health‑and‑safety inspections.
• Act as liaison with software, payment, and technology providers; oversee equipment maintenance and facility upkeep.
• Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and product launches while identifying efficiency and profitability opportunities.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of management experience in hospitality, food service, bakery, café, restaurant, or retail operations.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Financial acumen with experience managing costs, budgets, and reporting.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
