General Manager – Hotel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our 3‑star hotel in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and overseeing all operational areas of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team of department heads and staff, fostering an inclusive work environment.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve profitability and grow market share.
• Analyse financial reports, manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, and execute cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by responding to feedback, handling complaints and promoting a customer‑centric culture.
• Oversee all hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage and maintenance, maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness and safety.
• Design and execute marketing and sales initiatives, build relationships with key accounts and identify new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular quality control checks, audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with hotel standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel general management or a similar senior role within a 3‑star hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with hotel operations, revenue management and customer service principles.
• Preferably holds a hospitality degree or certification and has knowledge of labour laws, health and safety regulations.
