About the role
UN-Habitat is looking for a GIS Expert to provide technical support for the Geneva Technical Hub 2.0 (GTH 2.0) initiative and the "Rethinking Sahab – Urban Greening" project. The consultant will manage GIS layers and public‑space inventory for Sahab City, develop a GIS‑based operation and maintenance plan for the Eco Park and Green Buffer, and work remotely for a three‑month period.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare presentations, maps and drawings for workshops with city officials and technical staff.
- Draft, revise and finalize planning materials, including spatial analyses, drawings and reports.
- Process, organize and manage GIS layers and the public‑space inventory for Sahab City.
- Support the development of a GIS‑based operation and maintenance plan for pilot interventions.
- Participate in technical missions when required.
Required profile
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Urban Geography, GIS analysis or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience creating plan graphics using CAD tools and managing GIS data.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French is desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency with GIS software.
- Experience using Computer‑Assisted Design (CAD) tools.
- Ability to conduct spatial analysis and manage GIS data.
