Global Foundations Manager

About the role

As Global Foundations Manager you will diversify Welthungerhilfe’s funding base and strengthen long‑term philanthropic partnerships that advance the mission of Zero Hunger. The position is based in an African country office and works closely with colleagues worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and advance strategic foundation partnership opportunities in collaboration with country offices.
• Build and manage strong foundation prospect pipelines aligned with programmatic priorities.
• Support country offices in donor outreach, engagement planning and partnership positioning.
• Develop high‑quality pitches, concept notes and proposals together with technical and program teams.
• Facilitate exchange of best practices and market insights across country offices.
• Coordinate globally to ensure aligned relationship management and coherent donor engagement.
• Support due‑diligence and risk‑assessment processes in line with Welthungerhilfe policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Development Studies, Marketing or Communications preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in foundation fundraising or institutional philanthropy, preferably within an international NGO.
• Proven ability to secure six‑ and seven‑figure grants and manage long‑term donor relationships.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills to translate complex program information into compelling funding propositions.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and cross‑cultural collaboration abilities.
• High degree of independence, organization and reliability in a dynamic environment.
