Global Foundations Manager

About the role

As Global Foundations Manager you will diversify Welthungerhilfe’s funding base and strengthen long‑term philanthropic partnerships across Africa. The role combines partnership development, internal collaboration and strategic fundraising, working closely with country offices and the German headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and advance strategic foundation partnership opportunities with country offices.
• Build and manage strong foundation prospect pipelines aligned with programmatic priorities.
• Develop high‑quality pitches, concept notes and proposals in collaboration with technical and program teams.
• Support due‑diligence, risk assessments and compliance for prospective foundation partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred in a relevant field.
• At least five years of progressive experience in foundation fundraising or institutional philanthropy, preferably in an international NGO.
• Proven ability to secure six‑ and seven‑figure grants and manage long‑term donor relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with donor relationship management systems such as Salesforce.
