Hardware Sales Executive / Cashier

About the role

The company is seeking a motivated Hardware Sales Executive/Cashier to join its retail outlet in Githurai. You will be the first point of contact for customers looking for construction tools and building materials, while also handling cash transactions and supporting inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, advise on construction tools, materials and hardware products, and promote upselling opportunities.
• Operate the POS system to process sales, refunds, exchanges, and maintain accurate cash drawer records.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing merchandise displays.
• Handle customer queries, complaints and returns to ensure high satisfaction.
• Enter sales data, prepare daily cash reports, and maintain supplier delivery and invoice records.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in any field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a construction hardware store or building‑materials retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction tools, materials and hardware products.
• Excellent communication, honesty, reliability and punctuality.
• Physically capable of handling stock and hardware items.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Proficiency with POS systems.

What we offer

• Salary of KSH 25,000 per month.
