Head Housekeeper – Private Homes, Kilifi

About the role

A well-established holiday home, represented by Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for a well-educated and highly professional Head Housekeeper for two private houses in the same compound in Kilifi, Kenya. The ideal candidate is articulate and proactive.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all non-kitchen household operations across both homes in the compound.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, organisation and presentation of living areas, guest spaces and service areas.
• Provide high-quality table service, including food and beverage, to the standards of a luxury private home.
• Welcome, attend to and anticipate the needs of homeowners and guests with professionalism and warmth.
• Coordinate housekeeping routines, laundry management and general upkeep so the homes stay guest ready.
• Supervise support staff when required, ensuring standards are consistently met.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues, maintain inventories and keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Uphold strict confidentiality, discretion and trustworthiness at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a high-end private residence, boutique hotel or luxury lodge.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak confidently and professionally.
• High level of grooming, courtesy and service etiquette.
• Strong sense of initiative, responsibility and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated loyalty, integrity and discretion.
• Preferably female, given the nature of the household and role expectations.
