Head of Brand Design and Creative

About the role

Wave is looking for a senior leader to define and scale its brand expression across Africa. The Head of Brand Design and Creative will set the visual and creative direction, build a high‑performing global design team, and ensure brand consistency while allowing local adaptability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead Wave’s brand design strategy aligned with business objectives across multiple markets.
• Design and implement scalable brand systems, guidelines, approval processes and quality standards.
• Build, structure and lead a global team of brand designers and creative leads.
• Establish clear creative processes, intake systems, prioritisation frameworks and review cadences.
• Partner with Marketing, Growth, Product and leadership to align creative output with strategic priorities.
• Manage relationships with external agencies, production partners and vendors.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in brand design or creative leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building and scaling creative teams in high‑growth, multi‑market environments.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with high creative standards.
• Experience managing agencies and external partners.
• Fluent in English; French is a strong advantage.
• Degree in advertising, fine art, design or a related field.
