Head of Business Development, WACAR

About the role

The Head of Business Development (HBD) for the WACAR region will lead IRC’s business development efforts, supporting country programmes and aligning with regional strategy and donor priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional business development strategy, aligning with country programme action plans and donor priorities.
• Oversee the regional pipeline, coordinate proposal development, and ensure timely and compliant submissions.
• Manage relationships with institutional donors, partners and internal stakeholders throughout the pre‑award stage.
• Provide guidance on donor policies, negotiate agreements and support post‑award compliance.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading large multi‑partner proposals for NGOs in a humanitarian context.
• Fluent in English and French with strong experience engaging key statutory donors.
• Demonstrated strategic planning and leadership abilities at senior management level.
