Head of Finance

About the role

Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage the finance team for all projects in Kenya, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other required reports.
• Lead and develop the finance team across all Kenyan projects.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory examinations.
• Assist senior management in developing annual budgets and monitoring performance.
• Produce regular forecasts to support business planning and decision‑making.
• Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities and provide insights to senior management.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity, forecast cash needs and optimise cash resources.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Recruit, train and develop accounting staff, providing leadership and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of finance experience with a minimum of five years in a senior position.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA required.
