Head of Operations Manager

About the role

The Head of Operations Manager will lead three operational units delivering municipal, commercial and industrial waste collection services. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure efficient, safe and compliant service delivery across Kenya and the Seychelles.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily operations of waste collection units, ensuring adherence to KPIs and service level agreements.
• Lead and develop supervisors, drivers, loaders and support staff through regular meetings, performance reviews and training initiatives.
• Optimize fleet utilisation, schedule preventive maintenance, and control fuel and equipment costs.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and waste‑management regulations, conducting audits and incident investigations.
• Maintain high service quality by addressing customer complaints, liaising with municipal authorities and implementing improvement projects.
• Assist in preparing operational budgets, track expenditures and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations or logistics management, preferably in waste collection or related services.
• Proven ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and manage large fleets of vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental compliance standards.
• Experience in budget preparation, cost control and performance reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
