Head of Product – Locks & Ironmongery

About the role

The Head of Product – Locks & Ironmongery will lead product strategy, drive profitability and manage supplier relationships for a leading hardware manufacturer. This senior position reports directly to senior management and is responsible for maintaining a competitive market position through effective product lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute product and category strategies to meet sales, market share and profit targets.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, including sourcing, range development, pricing, rationalisation and discontinuation.
• Identify market trends, customer needs and competitor activity to keep the portfolio competitive.
• Lead commercial negotiations with local and international suppliers to secure favourable pricing, terms and rebates.
• Monitor supplier performance for quality, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with purchasing and supply‑chain teams to optimise stock levels, minimise excess inventory and support demand forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in product or category management, or business development within the hardware, locks, ironmongery or construction materials sector.
• Proven track record of driving product profitability and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience with inventory planning and demand forecasting is highly desirable.
