Health, Safety & Environment Supervisor – Fixed-Term

About the role

We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day HSE programme at our biochar production facility in Kenya. Reporting to the Controls, Health and Safety Specialist, you will ensure compliance with Kenyan regulations, embed a strong safety culture and support the Safety Marshals across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the facility’s HSE management system, risk registers and emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular safety audits, site inspections and incident investigations; document findings and trigger corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to DOSH, NEMA and county authorities.
• Execute HACCP at the shop‑floor level, verify hazard identification and communicate controls to workers.
• Train production supervisors and lab analysts on HACCP and HSE procedures.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and emergency drills for all staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience executing HSE programmes in an industrial or agricultural setting.
• Familiarity with Kenyan HSE legislation and regulatory bodies (DOSH, NEMA).
• Ability to work under the direction of a senior HSE specialist and support Safety Marshals.
