Health Specialist – Paediatric HIV, Child Survival (P-3)

About the role

The Health Specialist will provide expert technical guidance to strengthen paediatric HIV programmes across high‑burden countries in sub‑Saharan Africa. Working within UNICEF’s Global Programme Division and the Child Survival and Development Centre of Excellence, you will help translate global strategy into country‑level impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical support for paediatric HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B elimination initiatives.
• Assist country teams in designing and implementing integrated testing, treatment and retention strategies.
• Collaborate with WHO, UN agencies and civil‑society partners to strengthen health systems.
• Contribute to evidence‑to‑action processes, policy reform and scalable programme design.
• Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes to ensure measurable results for children and adolescents.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in paediatric HIV or child health programmes, preferably in sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Proven ability to work with governments, donors and multilateral partners.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
