HESQ Officer (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality)

About the role

The HESQ Officer will lead health, safety, environment and quality compliance for warehouse, blending and loading operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role focuses on protecting workers, enforcing the client’s Golden Rules and driving a zero‑incident safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and improve HESQ policies, plans and procedures in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Deliver safety inductions, hazard‑identification and emergency‑response training and keep training matrices up to date.
• Conduct regular hazard identification, HIRADC risk assessments and job hazard analyses; develop safe systems of work and permit‑to‑work procedures for high‑risk tasks.
• Perform routine site inspections, safety audits and PPE compliance checks across all operational areas.
• Lead incident and near‑miss reporting, investigations and root‑cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions are closed on time.
• Enforce Golden Rules, manage violations and coordinate work suspensions when required.
• Coordinate spill response, dust suppression, noise monitoring and waste‑segregation compliance.
• Maintain HESQ documentation, incident registers and audit‑ready logs.
• Liaise with the client’s internal HESQ team and represent the contractor at review meetings.
• Organise drug and alcohol testing, first‑aid provision and fire‑marshal coverage per shift.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HSE experience in an industrial, warehouse, port or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to develop and enforce safety procedures and lead investigations.
