Hospital Housekeeper

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Housekeeper to join our hospital team in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will ensure that all patient rooms, offices and public areas are kept clean, safe and hygienic, supporting infection control and patient comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all hospital zones, including patient rooms, corridors, offices and communal spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning, dusting, waste disposal and linen handling according to hospital standards.
• Apply infection control protocols in housekeeping and laundry activities.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facilities team promptly.
• Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Certificate in Infection Control Practices for Housekeeping and Laundry.
• Food Handler Certificate.
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Minimum two years experience in a service‑oriented environment.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of infection control procedures.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment safely.
