HR Manager (Full‑time, Nairobi)

About the role

We are looking for an HR Manager to lead day‑to‑day human resources operations for Halifax Construction Ltd in Nairobi. The role is hands‑on, covering the full employee lifecycle and ensuring compliance with Kenyan employment legislation while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, from drafting ads to issuing offer letters.
• Deliver structured onboarding for new hires and handle exit formalities for departing staff.
• Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, managing grievances, disciplinary processes and conflict resolution in line with company policy and Kenyan labour law.
• Support performance management by guiding managers on goal setting, appraisals and improvement plans, and maintain accurate performance records.
• Identify training needs, coordinate internal or external sessions, and track staff development progress.
• Maintain confidential HR records, including contracts, leave balances, medical information and statutory documents.
• Monitor compliance with the Employment Act and other Kenyan regulations, updating policies as laws evolve and communicating changes to employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR generalist or in an administrative HR role, with hands‑on exposure to recruiting, employee relations and record keeping.
• Demonstrated understanding of Kenyan labour legislation and HR best practices.
