HR Specialist – Kisumu

About the role

We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our team in Kisumu. The role will oversee the full employee lifecycle and ensure compliance with Kenyan labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, contract administration, attendance tracking and performance evaluations for all local staff.
• Prepare and submit monthly statutory documents, ensuring timely filing of NSSF, NHIF, PAYE and related tax/social security requirements.
• Facilitate employee communication, conduct disciplinary hearings and handle termination or separation procedures in strict compliance with Kenyan labour law.
• Issue HR documents such as employment and clearance certificates and compile comprehensive HR reports to support management decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Deep familiarity with Kenyan labour legislation and hands‑on experience with NSSF, NHIF and PAYE declarations.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations and contract management.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong coordination abilities across stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized, rigorous and strong problem‑solving capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Kenyan labour law and statutory filing processes (NSSF, NHIF, PAYE).
