Human Resource Officer – Muranga

About the role

Magunas Supermarket is seeking a proactive Human Resource Officer to join its team in Muranga. You will play a pivotal role in managing employee records, recruitment, payroll, and compliance with Kenyan labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly update employee records and HR information systems.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment processes, from job posting to selection.
• Prepare and issue HR documentation such as contracts and confirmation letters.
• Lead onboarding and induction programmes for new hires.
• Oversee attendance, leave management and shift scheduling with department heads.
• Prepare payroll inputs and ensure accuracy of attendance, overtime and leave data.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries on HR policies.
• Support disciplinary, grievance handling and statutory remittances (NSSF, SHA, PAYE).
• Coordinate staff training, performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
• Generate HR reports and contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
• Minimum CHRP Part 3 certification.
• 3‑4 years of HR experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
• Member of IHRM in good standing.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
