Human Resources Associate

About the role

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is seeking a Human Resources Associate to join its Nairobi office. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience for staff, managers and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Support onboarding, induction and off‑boarding processes, including documentation and formalities.
• Provide first‑level assistance on HR administrative matters and manage employment/consultancy contracts.
• Assist with work and residence permit procedures.
• Prepare and publish job descriptions, coordinate interviews, tests and candidate communications.
• Maintain recruitment data, reporting and ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Keep employee and consultant data up‑to‑date in the HRIS and support payroll preparation for Geneva.
• Contribute to performance appraisal communications, training needs analysis and budget monitoring.
• Help improve and standardise HR processes, tools and documentation, and support internal HR communications and audits.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with up to 12 months of relevant experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues and other departments.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data protection compliance.
