Human Resources Officer

About the role

MMT Alliance is seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to lead the HR function for its Nairobi office and project sites across Kenya. The role will oversee the full employee lifecycle, ensure compliance with Kenyan labour law, and support the mobilisation of project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts and staff inductions for office staff, engineers, project managers and construction labourers.
• Maintain employee records, payroll processing, allowances, overtime and statutory deductions.
• Administer leave, attendance, timesheets and workforce planning.
• Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with the Kenyan Employment Act and other labour regulations.
• Coordinate training and development programmes and support health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
• Work closely with Project Managers to resource projects and prepare monthly HR reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in construction, engineering or project‑based organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and labour relations.
• Experience managing payroll and statutory compliance.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
