Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support the Senior Manager – Human Resources in delivering HR plans, managing data and overseeing day‑to‑day operations across the assigned business units of Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of HR policies, plans and procedures.
• Assist in forecasting and planning talent pipeline requirements aligned with business strategy.
• Participate in talent recruitment processes to ensure optimal capabilities.
• Manage specific HR projects as defined in the annual operational plan and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives.
• Provide advisory services to heads of departments on talent management, performance, employee relations and change management.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and hospital regulations.
• Develop and monitor workforce statistics such as turnover, leave and absence.
• Maintain an efficient filing system for HR documents and staff records.
• Support payroll administration and monitor contract expiry dates.
• Facilitate induction and orientation for new staff, ensuring awareness of HR policies and code of conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related business field.
• Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) qualification or Higher Diploma in HR Management.
• Membership of the Institute of Human Resources Management.
• Minimum four years of experience as an HR generalist, preferably in a comparable healthcare institution.
