ICT Assistant – SACCO Core Banking Support

About the role

The ICT Assistant will provide day‑to‑day technical support to the SACCO’s users and maintain its core banking systems, hardware, software and network infrastructure. The role ensures availability, security and reliable operation of the ICT environment, including the Core Banking System (CBS) and digital service platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Assist in monitoring and supporting the Core Banking System and related applications.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, network devices and operating systems.
• Monitor network connectivity, servers and ICT infrastructure, escalating incidents as needed.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, access rights and system permissions.
• Support cybersecurity controls such as antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall monitoring and patching.
• Perform system backups, verify data integrity and assist with disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Maintain ICT asset inventories, documentation and support logs.
• Liaise with vendors for repairs, maintenance and service requests.
• Provide basic training on ICT systems, cybersecurity awareness and proper resource use.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 2–3 years of ICT support experience, preferably in a SACCO, micro‑finance institution or bank.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling member and financial data.
