ICT & Database Intern

About the role

The ICT & Database Intern will provide first‑line ICT support and assist with routine database, Microsoft 365, information security, asset management and digital workplace activities in a virtual, pan‑African organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to user support requests, perform password resets, troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues, and log tickets in the helpdesk system.
• Assist with setup, configuration and maintenance of laptops, mobile phones, printers and other ICT equipment.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms) and routine user account administration.
• Perform data entry, validation, data‑quality checks and help prepare database reports and dashboards.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of ICT assets and support periodic physical verification.
• Monitor antivirus/end‑point protection status, report security incidents and promote cybersecurity awareness.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of Windows and macOS environments and familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Awareness of database concepts, data quality and information‑security principles.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a virtual, multicultural setting.
