ICT Officer II

About the role

The ICT Officer II is responsible for maintaining the university’s ICT infrastructure, providing support for core academic systems and resolving technical issues reported by staff and students. This full‑time position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable IT services across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot ICT hardware, network devices, servers and related infrastructure to ensure continuous operation.
• Provide first‑line and advanced support for core academic applications, monitoring performance and coordinating with vendors when necessary.
• Diagnose, prioritize and resolve user‑reported technical problems, documenting solutions and contributing to knowledge‑base resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline such as Film Production, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in a Grade 8 or comparable position involving photography, video production, editing, creative graphic design, or digital content planning and production.
• Valid secondary education certificate (KCSE/EACE/KCE) from an accredited institution.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud editing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
• Advanced proficiency with Final Cut Pro suite for video editing.
