Immigration Consultant – Global Employer Services

About the role

Deloitte Tax & Legal's Global Employer Services team in Nairobi is looking for an Immigration Consultant. The role delivers high-quality services to clients and keeps utilization levels high, within the firm's Global Employer Services offering of tax compliance, tax advisory and legal, payroll, finance and HR outsourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax compliance, controversy and advisory engagements end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Hold entry and exit tax briefings for staff on mobility.
• Lead and oversee teams delivering tax compliance, advisory and tax controversy engagements.
• Manage client relationships and meet client needs.
• Train and mentor team members on the job and through formal sessions.
• Produce deliverables such as tax computations, advisories and tax dispute objections and appeals.
• Manage Global Advantage platforms for clients on their portfolio.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
• Support managers in planning and delivering assignments, and support collection of debtors and preparation of time costs for time-based engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a client-facing role handling payroll taxes, tax controversy and payroll-related tax advisory.
• Bachelor's degree in business/commerce, Economics or another relevant field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA), ongoing or completed.
• Good understanding of the employment tax and immigration landscape in Kenya.
