About the role
The Information Management Assistant will support OCHA’s Information Systems Section in Nairobi, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of humanitarian content. Reporting to the Section Chief and the Editor (P3), the role contributes to coordinated emergency response through effective data and content management.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure rapid delivery of quality content from partners and initiate coverage for sudden‑onset crises.
- Coordinate content management across duty stations to maintain smooth collaboration and consistent workflows.
- Conduct quality control and verification of content, leveraging language skills for regional coverage.
- Monitor technical issues, follow standard operating procedures, and recommend process improvements.
- Address client cases efficiently, applying empathy and sound judgment under minimal supervision.
Required profile
- Minimum high school diploma; university degree in international affairs, information systems, or related field is desirable.
- At least five years of experience in the humanitarian, human‑rights or development sector, including two years in communication, reporting, or information management.
- Experience with web content management systems, taxonomy, and content classification; familiarity with humanitarian issues and remote teamwork is a plus.
